Golden Circle of Friends had its beginnings several decades ago.  Its primary purpose is to promote fun, fellowship and learning among the over-age-50 members of College Ave.  We meet once a month during the school year for dinner and a program at William Penn University’s student union.

The Coordinators make all of the dinner arrangements, and members of the group take turns being responsible for a program.  Programs include hands-on activities, travelogues, musical presentations, holiday emphases, and speakers from the Oskaloosa area on a wide variety of topics.

Golden Circle combines with USFW for a summer outing in June or July of each year.  These short trips are handicapped accessible, inexpensive, and take advantage of carpooling.  In 2014 we went to the Des Moines Botanical Center and out for lunch at Old Country Buffet.  Over a period of years we have explored Pella, Albia, Sigourney, Sully/Lynnville, Kalona, Chariton, Newton, and many other communities within a 60-mile radius of Oskaloosa.
